UPDATE 3/29 5:41 PM: Ḥarakat al-Shabāb al-Mujāhidīn’s media outlet al-Katāi’b Media presents a French translation of the below audio message. This is not the first time al-Shabāb has published a release in French. Back in June 2010 they released a video with captured French security advisor Denis Allex who plead to French citizens and his government to release him.

All thanks and praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and the good end is for those conscious of Allah, and there is no aggression except against the oppressors.
To proceed:
This word is addressed to the people of Burundi.
It seems that your soldiers and young men have been deceived and do not have much understanding with regard to the reality that lies in Mogadishu.
You should be aware of the fact that states and alliances many times more powerful than you, have been crushed in Mogadishu.
The Americans failed in it, and so did an alliance which consisted of countries around the world.
In it, the Ethiopians – who brought a force many times more powerful than yours – were slain en masse.
And your own defeat has begun, evidenced by the corpses of your soldiers being dragged through the streets and captured as prisoners of war.
If you fail to draw lessons from this, your defeat will be worse than that which overtook the previous usurping occupiers.
Don’t let your soldiers become of those in service of the western community’s interests… and altruistically destroyed in Mogadishu.
Eventually, you will certainly be forced to leave the country. Today, the choice is yours: to leave while your losses are still relatively small or to leave after your soldiers have been crushed and heavy losses have been inflicted upon you.
Allah, the most Exalted, says:
“Or do they say, “We are an assembly supporting”? Their assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs. Nay, but the Hour is their appointment (for due punishment), and the Hour is more disastrous and more bitter.” [Al-Qamar: 44-46]
And the last of our prayers, is that all thanks and praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم عملية إستشهادية على ثكنة عسكرية للمرتدين 18/3/1432 الحمد لله وحده نصر عبده وأعز جنده وهزم الأحزاب وحده، والصلاة والسلام على المبعوث رحمة للعالمين وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين وبعد : نفذ أبطال كتيبة الإستشهاديين التابعة لحركة الشباب المجاهدين عملية استشهادية على ثكنة عسكرية للمرتدين بمحافظة “حمر ججب” القريبة من القصر الرئاسي في مقديشو، وقد وفق الله سبحانه وتعالى منفذي العملية من الوصول إلى وسط الثكنة بشاحنة عسكرية مليئة بالمتفجرات، وكان تنفيذ العملية في وقت طابور الصباح اليومي، وتعتبر هذا الثكنة من أكبر الثكنات العسكرية للمرتدين حيث تضم حوالي 600 جندي كان يتم تهيئتهم لشن هجوم واسع على دفاعات المجاهدين في العاصمة مقديشو. وقد تناثرت أشلاء المرتدين في داخل الثكنة وخارجها، وأكد شهود عيان أن معظم الجنود سقطوا بين جريح وقتيل، ولا يوجد حصيلة معينة لأعداد القتلى والجرحى حتى الآن. اللهم منزل الكتاب مجري السحاب هازم الأحزاب، اهزم الصليبيين ومن حالفهم من المرتدين. اللهم اجعلهم وعتادهم غنيمة للمسلمين. اللهم دمّرهم و زلزلهم. اللهم أنت عضدنا وأنت نصيرنا،اللهم بك نصول وبك نجول وبك نقاتل. والله أكبر {وَلِلَّهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلَكِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لا يَعْلَمُونَ} مُؤسَّسةُ الكَتائِب للإنتَاج الإعلامِي حَركةُ الشَّبابِ المُجَاهدِين—

Today – the 18th of Rabi’ Al-Awal 1432H which corresponds to 21st February 2011 – Allah has made it easy for Harakat Al-Shabab Al Mujahideen to carry out a blessed martyrdom operation inside the old Sarenda compound – near school-Policia in Hamar Jabab. At the time this operation was carried out, there were more than 600 of the apostate TFG militia assembled there. They were waiting for the arrival of 400 troops recently trained in Djibouti to join them so that they could attack the Mujahideen.
The apostate militias were all assembled in line and their commanders were delivering speeches when the operation took place and the truck struck them – destroying everything inside the compound including offices and adjacent buildings. And that is the blessing of Allah alone.
We ask Allah to reward and accept those heroic martyrs who carried out this blessed operation and make us of those who follow their footsteps in defending their religion.
This will certainly serve as a glad tiding to please the hearts of all Muslims around the world and misery for the enemies of Allah who are bound to meet a painful torment in this life and the hereafter.
And we want to inform the people of Mogadishu – that these infidels and apostate always try to hide their losses but you know that there were more than 600 of the apostate militia in Sarenda and you have the scale of demolition to the buildings and surrounding areas – so when the truck struck them you can imagine the level of destruction it would cause.
NOTE: Since I was unfamiliar with Shaykh Abū Salmān Aṣ-Ṣūmālī, so I asked Christopher Anzalone, a PhD candidate at McGill and administrator of the Occident site who researches Somalia and Ḥarakat al-Shabāb al-Mujāhidīn, what he knew about him. This is what he said (unedited from the original):
I’m not sure, but I think “Abu Salman” is a nickname for Shaykh Hasan Husayn Adam, a Salafi shaykh in Central Somalia connected to Harakat al-Shabab. I believe he’s in the Middle Shabelle (Shabeellaha) administrative district.

NOTE: Below is the official announcement of merger between the two Somali groups Ḥizb al-Islām and Ḥarakat al-Shabāb al-Mujāhidīn. First, is a joint audio message with representatives from the two groups and second, is the official press released published by al-Shabāb’s media wing Al-Katāi’b Media. Since both the audio and press release are in Somali I cannot provide a summary. That said, a member of the Anṣār al-Mujāhidīn English Forum wrote ten items that were highlighted:
1. To build an Islamic Caliphate on the path Of Our Holy Prophet SAW..
2. To continue the jihād path till we erase Shirk from the earth and to bring up the tawḥīd.
3. To Confront the International Crusade War
4. To follow the Law Of Allah on the earth, to make justice between the people and to remove the oppression.

NOTE: Christopher Anzalone has tweeted some interesting information about this video thus far:
Harakat al-Shabab al-Mujahideen’s new video, “And Incite the Believers,” features fighters from abroad, mostly it seems of Somali descent.
The video clearly states in the intro that it is a recruiting video for those abroad. It features a number of foreigners & diaspora.
Among those quoted in the video are Saleh ‘Ali Saleh al-Nabhani (killed in U.S. military strike Sep. 14, 2009) and Abu Yahya al-Libi.
At least some non-Somali diaspora foreign fighters appear, including one from Pakistan and one from Sudan (a guess as he speaks Arabic).
With regard to a number of the other “foreigners” it’s unclear whether they are from the Somali diaspora or are “foreign” foreign.
The “foreign fighters,” diaspora and “foreign” foreign, hail from Sweden, Britain, Tanzania, Sudan, Kenya, and Pakistan.
