New statement from the Amīr of al-Qā’idah in the Islamic Maghreb Abū Muṣ'ab 'Abd al-Wadūd ['Abd al-Malik Drūkdīl]: "In Support of the Intifāḍah of our People in Tunisia"

UPDATE: Click here for an English language translation of the below message.

NOTE: It should be noted that AQIM has nothing to do with the uprisings in Tunisia. They are trying to take advantage of the situation and attach themselves to the cause in a very cynical manner. One should therefore be weary of their reason for supporting this uprising.
For more background to the citizen uprising in Tunisia one should check out the following coverage, articles, and twitter accounts:

Jabār al-Fayfī’s, former member of AQAP, most recent confessions: "Return of the Consciousness 3"

NOTE: Jabār al-Fayfī has been lauded for helping tip the Saudis off to the planned parcel plot late last year. I disagree with this assessment since the dates he left Yemen and when the actual plot occurred there was too much lag time where AQAP could have altered there plans. Gregory Johnsen is skeptical of his involvement in breaking up this plot too, who briefly wrote about this most recent confession from al-Fayfī.

Companies such as Ericsson, Scandia, Volvo, Ikea, Electrolux… will be legitimate targets. You have been warned.

Now your children, daughters and sisters will die, just like our brothers, sisters, and children.
Our actions will speak louder than words. As long as you don’t stop your war against Islam, mocking the Prophet, and your stupid support for the Pig Vilks.
Now it’s time to strike, don’t wait any longer. Come forward with whatever you’ve got, even if it’s only a knife. I know you’ve got more coming up.
Don’t fear anybody, don’t fear anyone.
Apologies to my family: I never went to the Middle East for work or to make money. I went for jihad.

New statement from al-Qā’idah in the Arabian Peninsula: "Glad tidings for the believers within the series of Operations of Defense for the People of the Sunnah"

NOTE: Earlier in the week, AQAP released a statement claiming responsibility for the two attacks against the Ḥūthīs. This second one identifies the two individuals involved in the attacks. The attack on ‘Īd al-Ghadīr was conducted by Abū ‘A’ishah al-San’ānī al-Hāshimī while the second attack on Badr ad-Dīn al-Ḥūthī’s funeral procession was conducted by Abū ‘Abdullah al-San’ānī. AQAP claims that during the first attack they killed Badr ad-Dīn al-Ḥūthī.
I’m not sure what to think about AQAP coming out with two statements about this and not having this information all in the first statement. Was AQAP’s senior leadership unaware of the attack until after the fact? At the same time, it’s hard to believe that they wouldn’t have authorized such an attack especially since it’s the first time AQAP has attacked the Ḥūthī’s. I’ll defer to Gregory Johnsen on this one and see what he says once he blogs about it.

New statement from the Islamic State of Iraq [al-Qā’idah in Iraq]: "Regarding the Recent Lies of the Green Zone Government"

NOTE: This new statement from the Islamic State in Iraq is in response to the recent news reports that the Iraqi government has arrested 39 members of AQI. The ISI disputes this claim and suggests it is false and that the Iraqi government is trying to patch up the failings and setbacks they have had against the ISI.

New statement from al-Qā’idah in the Islamic Maghreb: "Response on the Recent Lies for Mauritania's Client [France]"

UPDATE: The following is an English translation of the below statement in Arabic via Flashpoint Partner.
Click here for a safe Pdf copy: Statement from al-Qā’idah in the Islamic Maghreb- “Response on the Recent Lies for Mauritania’s Client [France]” (English)

NOTE: AQIM blasts Mauritania for taking a deal with the “devil” [France] and they are following in the footsteps of Algeria by fighting the mujāhidīn. AQIM does not believe Mauritania’s claim that on two occasions in the past month, a group of six and then twenty-eight men surrendered as former AQIM fighters. AQIM asks Mauritania to release their identities. These actions according to AQIM shows France’s true colors as dirty liars who are trying to stop the mujāhidīn tide. AQIM calls on the journalists of Mauritania not to get swept up in these hypocrisies and lies. AQIM continues by stating Mauritania’s [and France’s] actions are futile and that it will not weaken the mujāhidīn on the front lines. They conclude by calling out the President of Mauritania who they describe as a “tyrant” and a client of France. They previously wrote a letter to him in late August, which you can see here.
