Question: Mr. Mujahid, after months of disputes, Hamid Karzai finally announced the so called ‘peoples congregation’ (Jargah), could you please share with us your view regarding it?
Zabihullah Mujahid: Yes, in Afghanistan the foreign invaders and their puppets, like before, are trying to put into practice various processes in order to cover up the invasion of Afghanistan, and enforce their ‘prescription’ of so called democracy. Once again they repeated their misleading efforts and conducted parliamentary election. From the beginning Islamic Emirate considered this particular election as ‘a demand and process set by foreigners’. The invaders covered the expenses of the election so that they can benefit from it.
Through this ‘show’ of election, the invaders wanted to deceive the Afghan Nation and the world that they have achieved their objectives, and now there is a popular, elected government and parliament, hence no one has the right to continue their struggle against the elected government.
The foreigners believed that through such staged and corrupt elections they can easily put in place their purchased puppet individuals and appoint them in the fake parliament, through which they thought that they can continue their occupation and from such a parliament they will be able to easily get their hands on a long term strategic alliance contract.
In addition to this the invaders also had the intentions of appointing in the parliament those individuals who do not believe in united Afghanistan. Through these puppets the foreign invaders will try on a high level to divide Afghanistan and cultivated mistrust amongst different ethnic groups.
From the beginning Islamic Emirate had considered this process a struggle by foreign invaders and detrimental to the Afghan Nation and Muslims, and the results of this process reveal’s the same truth about the invaders deceptive upcoming plans and efforts.
Question: United States of America, her allies and also United Nations had a warm welcoming response towards the parliamentary elections, how do you view their particular response?
Zabihullah Mujahid: I made it clear that the parliament in Kabul and the elections that were held are not conducted in order to serve the legislative needs of the country; instead it was part of invaders military strategy. As we know NATO is a military alliance, and it must be noticed that Rasmussen was compelling Hamid Karzai to bring about a new parliament, thus instead of government diplomats the ceremony of the new parliament was conducted by the military commanders of different countries which shows that the new parliament was a strategic military need of the American invading forces that ought to be completed. In reality the Americans want to use this parliament in order to fulfill their military strategy in the region. As far as The United Nation’s warm welcoming of the new parliament is concerned, then it is apparent that the UN cannot take any step against America and that is a known fact.
Question: Do you think that new parliament will have any effect on the current situation in Afghanistan?
Zabihullah Mujahid: No not at all, because this parliament like the earlier ones is neither an Afghani parliament nor legitimate, most of its members are elected on the basis of ethnicity by the invaders and their puppets, so like the earlier parliaments, it will only be limited to pocketing salaries and will not have any evident effect on the current circumstances.
Question: Can you describe briefly the view of Islamic Emirate regarding this parliament?
Zabihullah Mujahid: Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan does not give any importance to the existence or absence of such parliaments; most of its members are accountable for crimes and corruption which is part of this puppet regime. We see the so called newly ‘elected’ parliament as a part of the continuous stage show, which the Americans want to benefit from by using it as propaganda in order to deceive the populace.
Question: Coming to other issues Mr.Mujahid, recently the American General Petraeus claimed that they have some evident progress in Afghanistan, how do you view these claims?
Zabihullah Mujahid: Yes we hear this propaganda circulating in the media which is very astonishing. Our nation witnesses that the invaders are under more pressure than ever before. From one side, despite of the increase in number of invading forces they are under continuous attacks of Mujahideen all over the country which results in high casualty on daily basis. From the other side, the invading forces particularly their leaders and army generals are under great political pressure of their country’s general public, that despite of great expenses; enormous cost of life and public wealth, why have they not been able to fulfill their promises, which was to bring stability and a countable progress in Afghanistan. It is a known fact that the invaders have been defeated in Afghanistan, but they continue their propaganda through which they want to compel the world to believe in their so called progress in Afghanistan. As far as general Petraeus’s claim is concerned, we have been following his claims from past couple of months which in reality are politically motivated. For instance, when Obama was preparing scenario of his yearly speech for the Nation, according to a report general Petraeus was obliged to make new claims of progress in Afghanistan which had no authenticity. These claims were only made so that Barack Obama can refer to it and mention them as a proof in his speech. Therefore, in order to know the current situation in Afghanistan and the fantasy of progress in Afghanistan, we can refer to the many surveys that were recently conducted by some media sources, for instance the survey that was conducted by Reuters News Agency at the expense of European Union exposes to some extent the fantasy of progress in Afghanistan.
According to a report by Reuters news agency, an European security firm which is responsible for the security of NGOs in Afghanistan has mentioned in their investigated report; that the claims made by the American military Generals about the military progress in Afghanistan is contradictory to the reality on the ground, according to report there is no doubt that in 2010 there was 2/3increase in armed resistance compare to 2009, and in some northern provinces there is a threefold increase in armed resistance. Furthermore it is mentioned that the American president Barack Obama pointed towards the war in Afghanistan very differently, by saying that there was military progress on the ground and activities of Taliban have been limited in many parts of the country, whereas the progress that has been made is not secure enough and might fall back into the hands of Taliban. According to the report, the American general Mike Mullen’s visit to Afghanistan one day after the publicizing of white House review of Afghan war strategy where the General claimed about the progress in Afghanistan, however these claims had clear motives behind it, which was to influence the views and thoughts of the American and European public, and to prepare the situation in Afghanistan prior to the withdrawal of their forces from Afghanistan. It is also mentioned in the report that in 2010 there was 64 percent increase in the attacks of Taliban.
The above mentioned reports are according to a western media firm and I believe that if we make an even independent survey it will be more damaging to the invading forces.
Question: General Petraeus has been claiming for couple of months that they have detained or martyred majority of Mujahideen leaders in different parts of the country. Can you please give our readers some information about the reality of these incidents?
Zabihullah Mujahid: I can only say that our virtuous Jihad will indeed require sacrifice from us, and whether it be a leader or an ordinary Talib, sacrifice in this sacred path is our pride, and we believe that martyrdom for the sake of God Almighty is not death, but it is a life with dignity for us. However, as far as the enemy’s claim of martyring or capturing alive of majority of our leaders, it is very far from reality, because we can see that day by day there is increase in our Jihadi activities, and our armed forces are more disciplined than ever before. We are countering the enemy and opening new Jihadi fronts, we occupy more and more territory day by day. This in itself is a proof, prays be to Allah there is no such grave harm caused to our Jihadi leadership, and God forbid if these claims were to be true then we wouldn’t be having all these victories in the battlefields, and I believe that this is one-sided propaganda of our enemy, and right now there is totally an opposite situation on the ground, a general belief is that comparing to the previous years, this winter there are more attacks of Mujahideen, which unveils the fake propaganda of our enemy.
Question: Recently Karzai’s government has been reported claiming that in some northern provinces a number of Mujahideen have surrendered to the government and the process is gaining momentum, can you please give us some information regarding it?
Zabihullah Mujahid: We believe that such claims are part of organized misleading propaganda. As a matter of fact even our enemy believes that the Jihad and resistance is gaining momentum in the north. So in order to reduce the resistance in north, the Kabul government with the help and guidance of foreign intelligence agencies are trying to introduce some warlords as Taliban

Verily, all praise is due to God, we praise Him, we seek Him and we ask for His forgiveness and guidance, and we seek refuge in God from the evil of our own selves and from evil consequences of our actions, whom God guides, nobody can misguide, and whom God leaves astray nobody can guide.
I testify there is no God but God, and that Muhammad is the Prophet of God.

May peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you!
Dear Muslim brothers and sisters. Today, I want to address to you with this letter, a video letter. Before I address to you, I would like to ask the Almighty that He makes my words beneficial for Muslim people and beneficial for the Nation of the Prophet (pbuh). I am not getting tired giving praise to God who made me a holy warrior, who made me a Muslim, and I praise Him for putting me in the ranks of holy warriors.
By addressing now to you, I want at least one Muslim to see the truth in the events which occur in this world. After the special operation was carried out on January 24 in Moscow, we heard how all the politicians and clergy accused the people, who did that, of terrorism and, among other things, of being inhuman and barbaric evil doers. But look. This operation was carried out on my orders and, God willing, such special operations will be carried out in the future.
Look at the events which are now developing in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan. By what right do they kill our brothers in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Algeria and all over the Muslim world?
Why is the Nation of the Prophet (pbuh) being destroyed today, as much as they like it, with every method they like it and nobody condemns this destruction? But when we carry out an operation, everybody comes down on us and tries to tarnish us and blame us. But why don’t they make assessments for themselves? Why are they trying to make barbarians out of us today? Look how they kill our brothers in every Muslim state, where true Muslims strive for freedom, freedom to profess their religion. Why is the whole world silent when they destroy and kill our brothers and sisters?
And when we answer to something for which we have a right to do, the world immediately pounces on us. Look at the events which are happening in Sudan, where the president (or Emir, I don’t know what he is called) made his first concession many years ago by agreeing not to rule by Sharia and the Sunah of the Prophet (pbuh), he should have known that this was only the first of many forthcoming concessions, and that they would tear him apart with all force. Look how the largest Muslim state is being divided and cut apart today. America and “Israel” are dividing the very part of Sudan which possesses energy resources, where there is oil and gold, where there is oil and gas, and taking it away from Sudan. Why is it that the world looks at these events so calmly and does not react?
Look, if now we are not given the right for freedom, if we are not given the right for profess our faith, under cover of the slogans that our faith is not ancient and our faith is short sighted, that our people are small in numbers, then all the rights belong to numerous peoples and their cultures, rooted in antiquity,
We are not to invent anything new in that case. Russia and America should simply acknowledge that the right to be the masters of the world belongs to China because it has most of the people and the most ancient culture. Therefore, it is necessary to give all the rights to China.
Today, this right given is given to every man, this right is given at birth by the Almighty, and nobody has the right to deprive anyone of this right anywhere in the world. Therefore, we, the holy warriors of Caucasus, are now striving for freedom, which was given to us by the Almighty, we are striving to make our Caucasus free, we are striving for human rights to be proclaimed in Caucasus, for the right for life because life is given by the Almighty and nobody has a right to deprive anyone of life but only under the right, under the law of God.
We want that Caucasus today has the right for freedom, the right for worship, the right for (political) convictions, and the right for justice, because a court can only be the court from God, according to the Sharia, the right for defending honor and dignity, the right for an asylum for the persecuted, the right for defending property.
I want to ask those who listen to me today, those who view me now: where are these laws observed today by these infidel states that occupy and oppress the peoples who have a right to be free in this world? Where are these states? Is it America, or “Israel”, or Russia, or China? Where are these rights respected? Nowhere! Nowhere! They are only declared on a sheet of paper. Their laws are used as a truncheon to beat you on your head wherever it is possible for them and wherever there is no resistance.
Look at the events which are happening in Tunisia, Algeria and many other Arabic countries. Do not be fooled that these events bring some benefit to the Nation of the Prophet (pbuh) or Islam. No. One puppets are simply being replaced by the others. If the slogans of God and the laws of the Sharia were really proclaimed there, if the Truth were present there, then all the actions would have been carried out by Muslims and these occupiers, the Americans, would have long bombed these cities. Simply, one stooges are being replaced by other stooges. And that is all. Look what happens everywhere where Satan is rejected, where their laws are rejected, everywhere – take Caucasus, take Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Kashmir- look at their methods of destroying our brothers and sisters.
There is no doubt about that: anywhere where is Truth, where events, behind which God would stay, take place, where the laws of God are proclaimed, where the laws of Satan are rejected, everywhere the infidels destroy our Muslim Nation, destroy our brothers, who proclaim these slogans. But the world is somewhat silent.
The whole world looks at us with condemnation. At it looks with sympathy at the actions by the infidels, by the Satanic regimes, and presents its feigned condolences. Why is it so? Because those people who present feigned condolences, those people who are at the top of the Muslim Nation and Muslims governments, they are puppets, they are henchmen of infidels. When some of them go too far and do not satisfy their masters any more, they are destroyed: they are killed or sent to prison or hung as in the case of Saddam Hussein. And they put other puppets at their place.
But I think it is time to awake. Life was given to us by God in order we sacrifice it to God. And it doesn’t matter how many thousand years we live in this world, our life will be taken by God in any case. Is it not better to bring our life as a gift to God ourselves and to fight in truth on the path of God in order to establish the word of God? What is more sacred for a man than to enter the Paradise? God willing, I hope that my words will open the hearts of our brothers and sisters. God willing, I hope that at least one brother or one sister looks through a clean lens at the events which happen in the world and at least one head in a Muslim community gets free from the garbage that those Satanic regimes put in it.
Today, we, the holy warriors of Caucasus, wage the Holy War in the name of God and in the name of God only, only in order to establish the word of God in Caucasus.
If you are interested in the events that are happening in Caucasus, then ask: why did out ancestors fight? Why is the Caucasian part of the Nation of the Prophet (pbuh) is scattered throughout the world? Why didn’t many generations of them ever see their homeland and died in other countries? They never saw their homeland. Why did that happen?
This is already a law of injustice, this is a law of Satan. There are peoples in Caucasus that have been totally eliminated. That is why we want to stop this injustice, it should not be so. Because God bestowed upon us our land, and God bestowed upon us our religion. God ordered us to wage the Holy War for our religion, for our land and for our honor. Therefore, we, the holy warriors of Caucasus, God willing, are carrying out the God’s order and, God willing, we will continue to carry it out. God willing, we will strive to establish the word of God on this land. And, God willing, even if there is no more Abu Osman, then, God willing, the generation that comes after us will establish the word of God.
These special operations, which are being carried out on the territory of Russia, they will be carried out also in the future, no doubt, because there will be hundreds of brothers among us who are ready to sacrifice themselves for the sake of establishing the word of God and for the sake of revenge against the enemies of God because they are the enemies of God. God willing, I demonstrate again to you, I demonstrate to the Putin’s regime out there in Moscow that we do not carry out these operations on a regular basis because we want to demonstrate to the people, to the chauvinistic people, to the chauvinistic regime of Russia that we can carry out these operations at anytime, wherever we want to and whenever we want to.
This is a further demonstration of the fact that we are capable to carry out these operations regularly, to carry out deeper operations, more aggressive operations against you. But I would like not to shed so much blood and not to make such enormous sacrifices, I would like that Russia thinks it over and leaves Caucasus.

Today, I am visiting a base of the Martyr Brigade Riyad-us-Saliheen, with our brother Khamzat, the Emir of this brigade, praise be to Allah Who allowed in His mercy for us to meet. I want to say some words which will give you an idea why these special operations are carried out and why we are compelled to carry out such operations. The blame for the suffering of these people does not fall on us but on Putin, the enemy of God. We all can see this lawlessness that is being committed today, in the Caucasus in the first place. We also observe that this same lawlessness is now being committed in Russia. This lawlessness is staged on purpose because Russia is cheating, hampering and deceiving its people in Russia’s obligations before it. That is why they carry out such provocations in order to direct the people’s anger at something else. We observe that the infidels, Russia, occupied the Caucasus and made it its testing ground and an experimental base. They make experiments on the lives of Muslims, kill them, bury them alive, they do what they want with them, everything what they need for their experiments and their scientific works. But that is too little for them, they set their dogs on those Muslims, on those Caucasian brothers who are now forced to live on the territory of Russia, in Moscow, Leningrad and other cities. These dogs attack the Caucasians in large numbers. Therefore, the Caucasians are forced to defend themselves. You are to manifest this hatred first of all to your authorities and demand from them that they leave the Caucasus . And we will never visit Russia, and will never see your faces because we manage without doing that. May God reward you with Greatness and my last supplication is to praise God, the Lord of the worlds. The Emir of Riyad-us-Saliheen, Khamzat, will also add a few words for you. I want to stress again the importance of this issue. We should weigh all the pros and cons, and carefully examine the prospects of a solution, since this question is of strategic importance for the peoples of the Caucasus and our state.
There are advantages in the choice of Ottoman or Arabic language. The Arabic language is the language of the Holy Quran, the native language of Islam and its study is both necessity and obligation for the Muslims.
The Ottoman language is the language of the Ottoman Caliphate, which in 600 years of its existence had an enormous influence on the Caucasus, the Caucasian languages and the culture of our peoples.
For many centuries, the Ottoman Caliphate was the mainstay of the Islamic Ummah and Caucasian Muslims, and it left a deep mark on the consciousness of our peoples.
In our choice, we must take into account all the nuances of today’s situation, both in the Caucasus and the situation in the world which entered into a period of global instability and change.
Therefore, we must take into account not only cultural priorities, but also historical perspectives and political aspects in the light of rapidly changing political configurations in the geographic regions that are important for us.
I think that the discussion on the state language of the Caucasus Emirate should be expanded; suggestions, comments, and arguments must be systematically and carefully analyzed.
We have no doubt in our victory, and so today we must prepare for the arrangement of our state, as Allah commands. And Allah is sufficient for us as a protector, and He’s the best of the protectors!
I ask Allah, praise Him, the Most High, to forgive us our sins and mistakes that were made voluntary or involuntary, and ask Him to instruct us on the right path. He is One Knowledgeable and Experienced.

NOTE: This was originally released through al-Jazeera Arabic TV yesterday. This statement is a follow up to AQIM’s statement this past November by their amīr Abū Muṣ’ab ‘Abd al-Wadūd (‘Abd al-Malik Drūkdīl) titled “Any Negotiations For French Hostages Must Be Conducted With Bin Lāden Himself.” Additionally, UBL’s last release was about the French hostages as well, which came out in late October titled “A Letter for the People of France.” Here are some key quotes from the below audio:
President Nicolas Sarkozy’s refusal to remove his forces from Afghanistan is nothing but a green light to kill the French hostages. But we will not do that at the time that he determines to try and finish off with the repercussions of his position, which will cost him dearly inside and outside of France.
We repeat the same message to you: The release of your prisoners in the hands of our brothers is linked to the withdrawal of your soldiers from our countries, its doubt and budget deficit does not need a new front.
As one can see, UBL provides AQIM with sanction to kill hostages if they would like at a time of their choosing. In the tape UBL also gives permission for attacks inside and outside France. As such, it would not be surprising to see more attempted plots and/or attacks against France in the near future.

In the wake of Tunisia’s popular uprising this past week, some are debating whether Twitter,WikiLeaks, or even George W. Bush might have played a role in enabling the historic protest movement. But one thing seems clear: The jihadist movement, which has long defined itself as Arab governments’ staunchest and most authentic opposition, had nothing to do with it. Jihadists’ non-involvement in organizing, encouraging, or even participating in the Tunisian protests suggests that the jihadist current has been largely irrelevant to Tunisia’s popular uprising. For as long as jihadists have been in business, one of their main goals has been to overrun an “apostate” Arab leader such as Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. But with the possible exception of Egyptian President Anwar al-Sadat’s 1981 assassination, they never came close. That Tunisia’s protesters succeeded where the jihadists so often fail, and appear not at all driven by anything close to jihadist ideology or even general religious grievances, has left members of the online jihadist community unsure how to respond. The uprising, after all, fulfills a top jihadist goal, but it also rebukes their belief that only violent and pious struggle can bring down a man like Ben Ali.
Two days before Ben Ali’s ousting, the amir (leader) of al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), Abu Mus’ab ‘Abd al-Wadud, released a statement titled “In Support of the Intifadah of our People in Tunisia.” He appealed to Tunisians, selling AQIM as an ally in their protests. “I found it a fit chance to inform you, on behalf of my Mujahideen brothers in the Islamic Maghreb, our partisanship and consolation with you. And our stand alongside you in your problem and uprising, with advice, inspiration and affirmation,” he wrote. “Your battle you fight today isn’t alienated from the general battle the Muslim Ummah is engaged in against its external and domestic enemies. … And I encourage our people in Tunisia to be ready and prepare preparations and send their sons to us to train on weapons and gain military expertise. … My Muslim brothers in Tunisia: your Mujahideen brothers are with you, and your problem is our problem and your happening is ours, and the bereaved isn’t like the adopting.”
