New release from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Mullā ‘Abd al-Ghanī Barādar “Open Letter To the People of the United States of America”

l_DzlA8Q

As you may already be aware, every nation aspires to live a life in accordance with their own principles and values free from the fear of threats, invasions and attacks. Our struggle for the past nineteen years in Afghanistan has been conducted to attain this exact way of life.

The Doha agreement signed between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the United States of America on the 29th February 2020 with the aim that all foreign military forces along with their non-diplomatic personnel, private contractors, advisors, trainers and service providers withdraw from Afghanistan within a 14-month timeframe, while the Islamic Emirate would reciprocate by committing itself to preventing all threats to the security of other nations from Afghanistan.

I would like to clarify a few points for the effectiveness and success of the ongoing peace process:

1 – The past nineteen years have proven beyond any doubt that the Afghan issue cannot be resolved through the use of force or by alternating military strategies and generals.

2 – Just as this war — the longest in US history — has caused great tragedies and sufferings for the Afghan people, it has also caused America heavy human and financial losses, damaged its reputation and continues to inflict harm on both parties.

3 – After nineteen years of experiences, both reason and logic dictate that genuine efforts be made and commitments undertaken implemented to bring a comprehensive end to the ongoing conflict. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is sincerely committed to finding a political solution to the ongoing conflict and therefore, took the initiative by opening a political office in the nation of Qatar towards this end.

It followed this by constantly emphasizing upon the need for a political solution in international conferences and conventions in conjunction with taking further practical steps, ultimately signing the Doha agreement in the presence of political representatives of a large number of countries including the United Nations, following which it significantly reduced the number of operations and launched intra-Afghan negotiations to fully comply with the Doha agreement.

4 – We believe that the United States and its allies have also concluded that the Afghan conflict can only be resolved through dialogue, hence it participated in positive negotiations with the Islamic Emirate in order to draft the Doha agreement.

5 – Now that a year has passed since the signing of the Doha agreement, we urge the American side to remain committed to the full implementation of this accord.

6 – We are fully confident that the Afghans themselves can achieve the establishment of an Islamic government and enduring peace and security through intra-Afghan dialogue.

7 – It is an irrefutable fact that majority of the general public supports the Islamic Emirate and, with the help of Allah (SwT), it is the outcome of this exact support that has carried our struggle to the threshold of success.

8 – The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan does not allow discriminatory treatment among people in our homeland. This country is the shared home of all Afghans and discriminatory behavior among members of this home is unacceptable.

9 – Just as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has clarified in many instances that it is committed to upholding and guaranteeing all rights of women afforded to them by Islamic law, we would like to once again assure the international community in this regard.

10 – We would also like to once more declare to everyone our commitment towards freedom of speech within the framework of Islamic principles and national interests.

11 – Just as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan established a record in curtailing narcotics in the country prior to the invasion, it will again take all necessary steps in preventing narcotics resulting from international coordination and alternative income opportunity. On top of this, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan considers it an obligation to provide treatment to drug addicts.

To end, I would like to remind all that our nation and people are dealing with an imposed war. It is the responsibility and in the interest of all to bring an end to this war, and the implementation of the Doha agreement is the most effective way of ending it. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is aware of its obligations, other parties must also discharge their own obligations. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan does not interfere in the internal affairs of others, neither does it want to harm others, nor will it allow anyone else to interfere in our own affairs. Defending our land and people is our legitimate right.

New statement from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan: “Regarding the 32nd Anniversary of the Expulsion of the Soviet Invaders From Afghanistan”

l_DzlA8Q

History is a witness to the fact that our beloved homeland Afghanistan has repeatedly been a target of great incursions and invasions, however no matter the magnitude, brutality and terror projected by these invaders, our believing nation has valiantly confronted and ultimately defeated the invaders with Divine Help of Almighty Allah.

Among these great interventions was the soviet invasion of Afghanistan which was challenged by our nation with extraordinary courage and Jihadic resistance, culminating in the soviet invaders retreating from our homeland in complete humiliation and humility on the 26th of Dalwa 1367 (Hijri Solar). We congratulate our faithful and noble people on the occasion of this historical day and beseech Allah (SwT) to accept and reward all the martyrs, displaced, maimed and Mujahideen of the previous Jihad.

The 32nd anniversary of the soviet withdrawal has approached at a time when the topic of end of current occupation of Afghanistan and withdrawal of invaders is headline of every news and public discussion. Availing this unique opportunity, we would like to call on all participants of the current occupation to learn lessons from the fate of the Soviet Union and failed experiences of the current two-decade occupation, and bring an end to their criminal invasion.

26th of Dalwa testifies to the fact that no matter the strength of occupier, it shall be doomed to failure in the face of the legitimate struggle of the Afghan nation. Thus, in order to prevent further bilateral losses, do today what will unquestionably be happening tomorrow.

To end, we would like to congratulate our proud nation on this historical day and give them glad tidings that our Jihadic claim is truthful and Allah (SwT) invariably aids the truth. Allah willing, we shall soon also be witnesses to the day when our homeland shall be completely free and rescued from foreign occupation.

New statement from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan: “Regarding the Current Political Situation and Allegations”

l_DzlA8Q

A number of parties have alleged that the Islamic Emirate is not complying with its obligations outlined in the Doha agreement, and moreover, some sides and anti-peace figures are exerting efforts to prolong the stay of foreign forces and extend the occupation. The Islamic Emirate would like to make the following clarification regarding these issues.

The Doha agreement signed after eighteen months of intricate and hard negotiations is the sole political roadmap out of the ongoing US-Afghan conflict that no one should treat lightly. The Islamic Emirate on its part is seriously committed to its implementation, has taken effective steps in this regard, and also wants the other side to stringently implement the accord.

The American side attests that no foreign trooper has been killed over the past 12 months in Afghanistan, showcasing firm commitment of the Islamic Emirate to the agreement. In a similar fashion and in line with the text of the deal, no entity has taken any steps against the United States of America and its allies from the soil of Afghanistan nor is anyone allowed to do so, and as per the accord, intra-Afghan talks were launched and ceasefire made a topic of the agenda.

The Islamic Emirate has significantly decreased the level of operations, and in breaking with past practice, no annual spring offensive was announced or launched the previous year. That no district headquarters were conquered in succession like the years past, no numerous and complex attacks targeted the enemy in major cities, nor were plans sketched for the takeover of cities, if this does not constitute a reduction in violence than what does?

This is even before we reach any kind of an agreement with the internal opposition about ending operations against their military personnel. On the other hand, fighting which has occurred is mostly cases where our Mujahideen have been forced to defend their areas, or where the public has been safeguarded from harmful check posts, or where gunmen that extorted passenger vehicles and supply trucks on main highways were suppressed.

In contrast, the Kabul administration has launched large scale operations in various provinces and in some cases were even provided with air supported by foreign forces. Moreover, raids have been carried out against civilians, American aircrafts are still conducting unwarranted and agreement breaching airstrikes, entire prisoner release process to be completed within three months after launch of intra-Afghan dialogue in line with text of agreement has not been realized, leaders of the Islamic Emirate have not been removed from UN sanctions and rewards lists, warmongering and provocative rhetoric and propaganda by top brass of the Kabul administration has continued unabated since the signing of the agreement, they are conducting suspicious attacks against civilian and defenseless targets in cities, and intellectual figures are being assassinated to pin the blame on Mujahideen and create an atmosphere of mistrust. All of these actions display the non-commitment of the other side towards the peace process.

The Islamic Emirate once again calls on all parties to remain committed to their obligations instead of resorting to propaganda, provocations, baseless accusations and promoting an atmosphere of distrust. Our faith does not allow us to violate our agreements, therefore no one should be apprehensive about us, rather they should focus on implementing their own commitments.

Our message to the upcoming NATO ministerial meeting is that the continuation of occupation and war is neither in your interest nor in the interest of your and our people.

Anyone seeking extension of wars and occupation will be held liable for it just like the previous two decades. The Afghan Mujahid nation considers defense of their homeland, values and freedom their legitimate right and takes pride in it. Hence, all must avoid misjudging the situation or falling for the trappings of warmongering circles.
