Hizballah Cavalcade: Roundup of Iraqis Killed in Syria, Part 1

Reports of Iraqi Shia involvement in the Syrian Civil War surged from January-May, 2013.[1] In March, the first photos and bios of Iraqi Shia killed during the fighting were released. Many of these announcements, photos of those killed, and other information received much broader coverage after it was spread on forums and Facebook pages. Thus far, the only two Iraqi groups to have announced they have lost members have been Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq (League of the Righteous) and Kata’ib Hizballah (Hizballah Brigades).
It should be mentioned that Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq has not announced on its official webpage that it has had any “Martyrs” in recent months. Nevertheless, the group has set-up funeral processions for its dead in major Iraqi cities. In sharp contrast to Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq’s lacking web announcements; Kata’ib Hizballah updates its webpage regularly and in a more detailed fashion, regarding the fate of its members who have been killed and their funerals. Both Kata’ib Hizballah and Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, like their Lebanese counterpart, Hizballah, do not mention where these fighters were killed. Regardless, on most forums and Facebook pages, those who post comments are generally aware that the two groups are actively involved in fighting in Syria.

Note: Karar has one of the best developed narratives of any of the Iraqis killed. His story comes complete with numerous photos, a Facebook page, and supposed videos of him engaged in fighting. It is also important to note that he is the only one to have significant acceptance from supporters that he was a part of both Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq and the Syria-based (members mainly come from Iraq and Lebanon) Liwa’a Abu Fadl al-Abbas.

Expanding the Scope of Jihadology: Intro to the Hizballah Cavalcade

Three years ago, in May 2010, Jihadology.net was established to provide easy access to primary source materials from Sunni global jihadi groups affiliated or sympathetic to al-Qaeda’s worldview. I never would have imagined how large this site would become and want to thank everyone for that support and I hope it has been a useful resource. That being said, one of the largest conflicts embroiling the greater Middle East is the current civil war in Syria. As a consequence of the sectarianization of the war, non-state Shia jihadi groups aligned with the Iranian regime and Hizballah have joined the fight on the side of the Assad regime. It is important to note, that while both AQ-sympathetic and Iranian/Hizballah-sympathetic are ‘jihadi’ in nature, this site is not conflating these two separate movements and strands of thought. Due to the dearth of information on Shia jihadi organizations, Jihadology hopes to fill the same type of gap it did when covering the study of AQ-type groups. What is Hizballah Cavalcade?
The new and improved Hizballah Cavalcade has now moved to its new home and will present new information here at Jihadology. Beginning as a humble Twitter hashtag (#HizballahCavalcade) by Phillip Smyth, Hizballah Cavalcade initially sought to post photos of Lebanese Hizballah members killed in Syria and their funerals.
Hizballah Cavalcade will now also focus on (but is not limited to) organizations such as: Lebanon’s Hizballah and Harakat Amal (Amal Movement); Iraq’s Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq’s (League of the Righteous), Kata’ib Hizballah (Hizballah Brigades), and Liwa’a al-Yum al-Mawud (Promised Day Brigades); and Syria’s new Liwa’a Abu Fadhl al-Abbas (The Abu Fadl al-Abbas Brigade).
By utilizing data found on sympathetic Facebook pages, YouTube accounts, and on forums, the new Hizballah Cavalcade will attempt to display available photos of all funerals and martyrdom posters belonging to Shia groups which are fighting in Syria. In addition, funeral, combat, and even music videos belonging to these groups pertaining to the fighting in Syria will also be posted.

Clarification statement from the official spokesperson of the Taliban movement regarding current events in Pakistan
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe, and may prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, his companions and his allies. Thereafter:
The so-called general elections will be held under the framework of a secular democratic system on the 11th of May, 2013, in a country that came into existence under the banner of the Islamic creed, and which totally contradicts secularism because the Islamic laws and values are laid down by Allah, but the secular creed was laid down by Rousseau, Kant, and Bantham.
And we can never favor people over our Lord of glory and goodness, and a person cannot be secular and a Muslim at the same time, as those are two different creeds.
And the first reason for targeting the political parties by the Tehrik-i-Taliban is their secular creed, but the primary and most important reason is that these parties are primarily responsible for burning the tribal areas and Sawat and Khyber and Pakhtunkhwa, and making millions of people destitute, and forcing the migration of the Pashtun people from their area, and destroying mosques, and military operations, and the blood game that has been going on for years.
Now they face the punishments for their sins, for Tehrik-i-Taliban will always continue to avenge the unjustly treated, Allah willing.

نعم يحدث هذا في الجزائر وبالضبط في مدينة جيجل شرق العاصمة، في هذه المدينة المحافظة تجري فصول معركة أخرى من معارك اﻹسﻻم الخالدة ، أبطالها هذه المرة ليسوا علماء اﻷمة الصادقين وليسوا فرسانها المجاهدين ،ولكنهن بناتنا وأخواتنا العفيفات الطاهرات ،يخضن معركة الطهر والعفاف في جامعة جيجل،وبالضبط في حيها الجامعي للبنات،فهل تعلم الصحافة الجزائرية المسيرة ما يجري هناك؟وهل تعلم ما هي حقيقة وفصول هذه المعركة، وهي الصحافة التي ﻻتغيب عنها أدق التفاصيل عن الحرب المعلنة على اﻹرهاب، الذي مبناه واﻹسﻻم ؟أم أن صحافتنا الحرة للغاية صنفت تلك الفتيات في خانة اﻹرهاب ،فحق عليهن قانون التشويه والمقص القاسي؟….نترك ﻷحرار (صحافتنا الحرة للغاية) الجواب، واﻵن معا لكشف النقاب عن مسرح اﻷحداث وفصول المعركة:
إن حفيدات صفية رضي الله عنها ،يخضن معركة المسجد ….نعم معركة المسجد …إنهن يطالبن بمسجد صغير داخل الحي الجامعي للبنات ليقمن فيه الصلاة …ليسجدن فيه لله رب العالمين …ليعبدن ربهن الذي فطرهن…ليشكرن نعمه الظاهرة والباطنة عليهن…لينعمن بنعمة القرب من الله سبحانه والوقوف بين يديه أناء الليل وأطراف النهار….ليؤدين نعمة الشكر التي ﻻيفوق إليها إﻻ القليل من الناس في هذه الحياة كما قال سبحانه وتعالى [وقليل من عبادي الشكور].
لقد وقفت مديرة الحي الجامعي وإدارتها في وجههن وأبت اﻹستجابة لمطلبهن الذي ﻻ يتجاوز بناء مسجد صغير يذكر فيه اسم الله في بلد مسلم ،دفع أهله الكثيرمن أجل إسﻻمهم عبر التاريخ وبالضبط في مدينة محافظة ، لم تتخلف عن أي معركة من معارك اﻹسﻻم الخالدة ،منذ وطئت أرضها أقدام الفاتحين .
إن مديرة الحي الجامعي للبنات ليست شخصا معزوﻻ في هذه المعركة ،ولكنها تعبر عن تيار علماني حاقد على اﻹسﻻم ،مازال يحكم هذا الشعب المسلم اﻷبي ، ويريد خلعه عن دينه بطريقة ممنهجة ،في المدرسة والثانوية والجامعة والثكنة العسكرية ،فأبعدوا اﻹسﻻم من برامج التعليم والتكوين وفرضوا اﻹختﻻط ومنعوا المساجد ، في تحد سافر لله سبحانه ومشاعر هذا الشعب المسلم ، الذي لم يبغ يوما عن اﻹسﻻم بديﻻ،غير مبالين بوعيد الله الشديد في محكم التنزيل ، قال تعالى [ومن أظلم ممن منع مساجد الله أن يذكر فيها اسمه وسعى في خرابها أولئك ما كان لهم أن يدخلوها إﻻ خائفين لهم في الدنيا خزي و لهم في اﻵخرة عذاب عظيم].
إن معركة أخواتنا وبناتنا في جامعة جيجل هي فصل آخر من فصول معركة اﻹسﻻم الخالدة، ضد أبناء فرنسا وورثة منهجها الملوث ،في هذا البلد المسقي بدماء الشهداء على مر العصور، لتبقى شجرة اﻹسﻻم مورقة على أرضه إلى قيام الساعة يستظل بظلها أبناؤنا جيﻻ بعد جيل ،حتى يردوا الحوض على نبيهم عليه الصلاة والسلام ، غرا محجلين،ﻻمبدلين وﻻ مغيرين.
أمام إصرار المديرة المشؤومة على منع مسجد الله أن يذكر فيه اسمه،نهيب بإخواننا الطلبة في جامعة جيجل وسائر الجامعات في الجزائر بل وفي سائر بلدان المسلمين، أن يقفوا إلى جانب أخواتهم المغلوبات على أمرهن ، وإبراز قضيتهن للرأي العام ،ليشهد العالم أجمع على العداوة المتأصلة في حكومة بوتفليقة على اﻹسﻻم كل اﻹسلام وليس على تنظيم القاعدة وحده، كما تدعي وسائل اﻹعلام.
وفي الختام نؤكد دعمنا وتأييدنا لحفيدات صفية في دفاعهن عن دينهن وحرصهن على بناء مسجد يذكر فيه اسم الله وتقام فيه الصﻻة وينشر فيه العلم ويرفع فيه الجهل وتورث فيه معاني العزة واﻹعتزاز باﻹسﻻم لﻷجيال ،ومن يفعل الخير فلن يعدم جازيه.
[وقل اعملوا فسيرى الله عملكم ورسوله والمؤمنون وستردون إلى عالم الغيب والشهادة فينبئكم بما كنتم تعملون]
