New statement from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan: "The Bankrupt Power"

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful.
Today America is bankrupt. It can no longer finance and control the world. The richest country of the world is the most debt-ridden country of the world. The super power that once used to give loans to others is today drowned overhead with debts—about $ 14 trillion, which it can’t pay. What a good saying, “As you sow, so shall you reap.” America faced bankruptcy and deficiency because of its negligence and arrogance.
If we look at the past, we can see that when Bill Clinton was vacating office for George Bush in 2000, there was a surplus of $300 billion in the treasury. When Bush turned to spending astronomical amounts both at the military and financial fronts following the 9/11, the surplus became deficit. In the first two years, the surpluses of $300 billion were spent. In the following two years it rose to 600 billion dollars. In the next two years, the debt was $ 900 billion. In 2009, it went up to $1.2 trillion.  Today it   is nearly $ 1.7 trillion, being unprecedented in the history of America.
This has forced America to borrow more money and to revamp its debilitating economy.  It did so, taking heavy debts from Japan, China, Saudi Arabia and other gulf countries. In the first term of Bush, the debt reached $7.6 trillion. But in his second reign, it rose to $ 10.6 trillion. Today it stands at $ 14.02 trillion.  More than half of the present debts occurred in   the past six years, when Iraq and Afghanistan wars were at their heights. If we spread the debts over the American population, every American has borrowed approximately $45,300.
Regional analysts say, America must spend $1.3 trillion more than its revenues in the current year. Because budget deficit is increasing by $400 billion per day, it brings America to the verge of sinking with the passage of each day.
It means America has to borrow 40 cents of every dollar that she spends. On January 15, the finance secretary said that this was unprecedented in the history of America. The irony is that the two major parties blame each other for the crisis. Congress is compelled to either remove the legal limitation on debt to give free hand to the government to borrow more money, or to bring great cut in expenditure. But whatever step they may take, it will not make any difference. In war times, debts usually increase but not to the extent that the former President Bush was responsible for. He bankrupted the state and left it to Obama in that dilapidated condition.
The trouble is that an interest of $6 trillion dollar is added to the debt of $14 trillion. The actual interest is$ 900 billion but for some reasons it rises to $600 trillion i.e.
A. Since the government can’t pay it back, therefore the interest multiplies.
B. The lenders (states, companies, banks, individuals etc.) raise interest rates.
C. The government has lost its credibility against the lenders and is imposing its self-made regulations.
D. The government keeps the military expenditure and budget both on its high level. Therefore both of the wars are supported by loan.
The Pentagon’s budget is $717 billion for 2011. An additional amount of $200 billion is allocated for war in Afghanistan and Iraq and the so called “War on Terror”.
The Soviet Union is dead now. The Warsaw Pact is buried. So why is she (America) destroying the world? Why did she waste her 6,000 soldiers in vain and $3 trillion over-spending? Why all this?
The war in Afghanistan and Iraq has left behind three main questions unsolved:
1. Would America have lost so much, if Bush had not been made the President?
2. Would America not be in debt to that extent, again if Bush had not been the president?
3. Would America not see the crisis so heavily if he had not been at the helms of affairs?
All the answers could be but only in the negative. Attacks over Afghanistan and Iraq affected the stocks market. Companies were damaged and bankrupted. In 2007-2008, a great regional crisis started. This ushered in financial and commercial deficit– the immediate affect being on the housing and mortgage sector.   The economy melted down, growing debts followed. Dollars were printed without any support, dwindling its value and increasing the inflation and financial deficit. Large companies touched the peak of the crisis, compelling the government   to save them from bankruptcy by giving them billions of dollars.  It encircled America like a chain and is difficult for her to get rid of.
The former Soviet Union would not transcend to admit that the Afghan war was bringing them to knees. In the same way the America is not ready to accept this bitter reality that the main cause behind the crisis is the Afghan war.
How and when can America get rid of the current $14.02 trillion? The answer is ambiguous.  We can say that it is a back- breaking and irreversible crisis, swallowing America day by day. Can’t we say that this hurricane is just like the strong waves of the Red sea, which engulfed the Pharaoh, putting him stayed in their embrace for ever?

Re-released interview with Mawlawī 'Abd al-Kabīr, the Commander of Eastern Afghanistan, of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan

UPDATE 1/22 7:36 AM: It has been brought to my attention that the below interview is not new, but rather was released this past October, which I actually posted here. It appears the Ṭālibān re-released it under a different title. Apologies for any inconveniences.

Alemarah: Recently Karzai’s Kabul regime has announced ‘Great Peace Shura’ (council) consisting of 69 members, which includes some familiar faces of leaders of some earlier movements, and also earlier members of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. What is your view about the significance of this particular council, efficacy of its members and its key role towards achieving peace?
In the presence of foreign troops ‘the dialogue for peace’ is baseless and nothing more than propaganda.
Maulawe Abdul Kabir: Dialogue and congregation is an accepted Afghan culture, and is a base for sorting internal problems and differences. Whereas this particular ‘shura’ has no such credibility, because it is one sided and is intended to serve personal profits and benefits. To a far extent, its members are in favor of American occupation, although they consider themselves ‘Jihadi leaders’ which they were at the times of Jihad against the Russians but as a result of their support for American occupation, they have no such status in the sight of Afghan nation. Similarly, those members who are representing the Islamic Emirate and are considered to have participated in the ‘peace shura’ can never represent Islamic Emirate, because they themselves are under American surveillance and custody.
Alemarah: Seeing that you negate every peace process and press more on military solution, don’t you think that to some extent this might indicate your political weakness?
Maulawe Abdul Kabir:: As far as Afghanistan’s current circumstances are concerned  peace process will only be possible if it results in the guaranteed expulsion of occupation forces and paves the way for the establishment of Islamic State. Any such process seems to be unachievable in the presence of occupation forces.
Alemarah: During the governance of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan there was undoubtedly relentless fighting in north of Kabul and in many other northern provinces, which resulted in killing, imprisonment, and suffering of thousands. Therefore there is an atmosphere of mistrust between you and the north and the hostility which arose as a result of relentless fighting has not been eliminated yet. So in order to solve these problems and maintain an atmosphere of confidence, have you taken or are planning to take any steps?
Maulawe Abdul Kabir: It’s very apparent that the Islamic Emirate has not fought or disputed over tribe, language or zone. During the Islamic Emirate’s previous rule, ethnic groups from all over the country including the North were members and part of the Islamic Emirate. Even now, from north to south and every other province of Afghanistan has ‘Jihadi Arrangements’ and ‘problem resolving body’ in which they all participate. As far as the differences with the North are concerned, we must make it clear that Islamic Emirate has never fought northern general public, nor has any antagonism on basis of zone or language. However we have fought those who were creating obstacles for our ‘virtuous objectives’ which were to achieve peace throughout the country and establish an Islamic State. These obstacles were also created in the south and likewise we fought them and had similar policy towards them. Islamic Emirate does not differentiate between ethnic groups, and expects from country’s all ethnic groups including ‘the great North’ to intensify the fighting against the invading forces, and to disclose the enemy’s known and secret plans.
Alemarah: Amir-ul-Mu’mineen, Mullah Muhammad Omar Mujahid, in his interesting Eid-ul-fitr message had pointed towards country’s state-building program and its important features, one of which was employment of qualified personnel and another was activation of ‘shura’ type system. So could you please explain the criteria for requirements and qualifications of Islamic Emirate personnel? Will it be limited to religious students and knowledge only or will it include modern day knowledge and qualifications?
Maulawe Abdul Kabir: Islamic Emirate has never overlooked qualified populace but it was only some higher posts which were occupied by scholars and students of knowledge (i.e. Taliban), the rest of our employees were qualified people and with the help of Allah if Islamic Emirate comes to power again, we will pay even more attention towards employing qualified personnel according to our law. Coming to the last part of your question, no our criteria is not limited to religious knowledge only, but we prefer qualification and taqwa (God fearing) and whoever possess these qualities is our ideal choice.
Alemarah: In Afghanistan, whoever comes to power, in order to stay potent they must pursue a policy which results in good and harmless relations with neighboring countries, and the neighbor must not have concerns about them. Accordingly, what will be the plan and practice of Islamic Emirate, and how can you assure your neighbors that Islamic Emirate will not take any action against them and will follow a policy of mutual respect?
Maulawe Abdul Kabir:: As Muslims we know very well the rights of neighbors according to Islam. We have always strived to maintain good relations with our neighbors, and no one can prove that we created problems or difficulties for our neighbors when we were in authority. Even though we have very critical circumstances in front of us right now, none of our neighbors including Iran and Pakistan can argue that we have interfered in any way in their country’s internal affairs. Furthermore respected Commander of the Believers, Mullah Muhammad Omar, has from time to time made this matter clear in his messages, and that is our official policy.
Alemarah: We occasionally hear reports that Taliban leaders are engaged in talks with the Americans or the Kabul regime, in such and such country was held the first meeting, another meeting was held in such and such country and so on. Furthermore, the media points out specific names that so and so among Taliban leaders is inclined to peace talks, even though you have rejected these contacts and reports up to this moment. Can you discuss who might be trying to issue such reports and what might be their prime objective behind it?
Maulawe Abdul Kabir: There is no doubt that the Americans have been defeated militarily and their combatants have failed in this regard. Now America and her allies are trying to have at least some political gains. Hence they try hard to expand and boast about this show, they also try to provide with some fabricated proofs and mention names of Taliban leaders that they are in contact with and they are inclined to peace talks. Whereas all this is nothing but propaganda of occupation forces who try to create an atmosphere of mistrust between ordinary Afghans and Mujahideen. You can see that the enemy of Islam, in spite of enormous propaganda, cannot provide any evidence of peace talks with the authorities of Islamic Emirate. This is a proof in itself that neither there has been any peace talk nor has any authority of Islamic Emirate shown any inclination towards it.

New statement from Zabīhullah Mujāhid of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan: "About the Baseless Rumor of Illness of Amīr al-Mū'minīn, Mullā 'Umar Mujāhid"

Quoting the American   State Department and a CIA-run private intelligence network, The Eclipse Group, an American daily, The Washington Post has published an unsubstantiated and baseless report, claiming that the esteemed Amir-ul-Momineen, Mullah Omar Mujahid had  a heart attack and  was treated in a hospital in Karachi. The afore-said intelligence network says,  the source of its
information is a physician who saw Amir-ul-momineen after the operation. But the report does not mention the name of the physician. According to the network, the physician says that he was not present in the operation theatre but heard from other physicians that Mullah Omar was suffering from cardiac complications. Some Afghan and international media outlets circulated the rumors without first verifying and substantiating it.
The Islamic Emirate  of Afghanistan categorically  refutes  this baseless and fatuous claim and believes that circulation of this rumor,  is part and parcel of the propaganda war launched by the enemy.
The esteemed Amir-ul-momineen (may Allah protect him) has never suffered from such disease, that would have required to rush him to a hospital. The enemy is circulating these rumors to cover up its  own defeat at the military field and to distract the attention of the common man.
It is  worth mentioning that the enemy has no proof in this regard nor has any reason to prove its case. The only proof that it relies on in the report, weakens the claim in itself. The physician mentioned in the report says that he has not seen such an incident personally but has heard ( the story)  from other doctors. It is in itself a fabricated reason.
In view of the propaganda drive by the enemy, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan declares that this fatuous and baseless claim of the enemy will not have any negative impact on the resistance and operations of the Mujahideen against the invading forces.
All the people of Afghanistan know that the enemy has launched the propaganda campaign in order to cover up its defeat. It gives circulation to baseless rumors which  often end up proving a failure and fatuous.  In fact these baseless rumors only add to undermining the credibility of the enemy. Apart from that, no gain the enemy will have.

New statement from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan: "How the 1,400 Troops Re-enforcement Could Uplift the Sagging Morale of 120,000 American Troops"

According to a report in the New York Times, Pentagon is intending  to send 1,400 more  soldiers to Afghanistan in the current year 2011, presumably to fill up the vacuum existing in the ranks of the American army—   a vacuum  which is  the  result of the tips-and-runs attacks of the Mujahideen and increase in their strength during the previous year.
The Pentagon claims that the surge of the troops in Afghanistan will carry out special raids and effective operations against the Mujahideen in the current year but it is not true. The fact is that the Americans faced huge material and life casualties last year, reaching an unprecedented level in the past nine years period. It was expected that the Americans would try to replenish the vacuum to an extent by resorting to a fresh surge.
As to the Pentagon’s claim that the new 1,400 troops  will take part in special operations against the Mujahideen, we could only say, it is futile and meaningless. During the past nine years, Pentagon has not left any stone unturned in using all tactics and stratagems which their brutal imagination could envisage.  They have not spared committing any crime including battles against the Mujahideen; torturing them; engineering surreptitious conspiracies; launching political ploys; perpetrating genocide against the Afghanis people; detaining the common Afghans and destroying their plantations, properties, hearths and homes. So we can say,  the fresh surge by the Pentagon is not a new initiative but aimed at replenishing the void that has been created by the fatalities and injuries of the American troops during the past year.  There seems no other rationale behind the re-enforcement.
If we look at  facts, we know that Pentagon will not be able to fill up the vacuum of the troops casualties by a fresh surge of 1,400 troops. Every one knows the fact,  that during the past year, some undeniable events took place and even American sources and the American spokesmen at Bagram Airbase have confirmed them.  Furthermore, some sources put   the American troop’s fatality during the last year at 3,000 soldiers. However, other substantiated evidence on hand and the Mujahideen’s data show the casualties were many times higher than the ones revealed.
Granted, if even they are able to fill up the vacuum by the miniscule 1,400 troops surge, then what about another vacuum that the American troops in Afghanistan are grappling with right now, and that is the problem of sagging morale;  the descending psychological conditions and the fear of war. What does Pentagon think that,  will the re-enforcement of 1,400 troops  prove to be an effective panacea   to  fill the gap and what breakthrough they are going to make during 2011? Contrarily, these extra 1,400 troops will suffer from low morale when they join the American troops stationed there and hear their stories and accounts of  armed clashes with the Taliban. The war of Afghanistan and the Jihad environ prevailing there will teach them exemplary lessons that it will be difficult to tell their condition from the already stationed troops which have been crumbled at the hands of the Mujahideen.
The troops of the fresh surge and the previous ones will be quashed thanks to the well-known Afghan willpower that their war specialties and tactics of special operations will be of  no use any more.  By then, they  themselves will  seek the way of escape from Afghanistan if Allah willing.

New interview from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan: "With Jihādī Leader from Nīmrūz Province"

NOTE: This interview was conducted through Morchal Magazine a publication I have never heard of. If anyone knows anything about it feel free to write something on it in the comments below.

Nimroz province is located in south eastern Afghanistan. Farah province located to its north, to east is Helmand, Balouchistan province of Pakistan is located to the south and to the west is Iran. Nimroz has one of the smallest populations of all the provinces which stands at around 149000 according to the latest statistics.
Nimroz is mainly dry desert with an area of approximately 41,005 square kilometers. The famous Marko desert is in this province and the rivers of Helmand and Khasrod also pass through it. The provincial capital in Zaranj city and its districts are as follows:
1.       Delaram
2.       Chakhansor
3.       Khashrod
4.       Gank
5.       Charbarjak
Short biography of Maulavi Abdul Rasheed:
The head Jihadi military leader of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in charge of Nimroz province, Maulavi Abdul Rasheed was born 40 years ago in Disho district of Helmand province into a Mujahid household. He has successfully completed his religious studies for which he had an immense love since childhood. He was appointed this important responsibility 4 years ago after the previous leader, Maulavi Mahmood was Martyred (may Allah have mercy on his soul) and is still actively carrying out his duties. The honorable Maulavi is a Balouch by ethnicity. He has also carried out his Jihadi obligations in Nimroz, Helmand, Kandahar, Kabul, Kapisa, Baghlan, Faryab and Kunduz provinces and has been wounded twice in Kapisa’s Koh-e-Safa and Faryab’s Khwaja Doko districts (may Allah make it a shield for him).
Q: Respected Maulivi Sahib, firstly we are honored to be sitting here with you talking about Jihadi affairs. Secondly, can you give us some information on the situation in Nimroz?
A: All praise is due to Allah and may his blessings be on the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and what is to follow:
The Jihadic situation in Nimroz province, just like the other provinces, has seen significant progress this year; All praise is due to Allah. Nimroz provincial capital along with all 5 districts have been covered by our Mujahideen groups who have been able to take complete control of Delaram and Khashrod districts but not the district centers. From Rod southwards of Charbarjak district, which covers nearly half of the province, is also under our command. Our Mujahideen are also carrying out regular guerilla attacks in Chakhansor and Gank districts and we are hopeful to Allah Almighty that he will also grant us a complete victory there soon.
Q: Can you tell us which foreign occupying countries are based in Nimroz and in which areas?
A: All the foreign forces in Nimroz are American whose real headquarters is based in Delaram which is a huge PRT in the district center along with a small airfield. They also have an outpost in Dahmazang area. They had an outpost, which has been abandoned recently, in Khashrod’s Ghor Ghori area. Similary there is a small contingent in Zaranj city.
Q: Can you elaborate on the Jihadi situation in the province, what operations have you carried out recently?
A: This year was Alhmadulillah very successful when compared with the other years and we had a lot of success. A day hasn’t passed in Delaram and Khashrod where Mujahideen haven’t carried out an operation against the enemy. Mujahideen caused the enemy deadly casualties and damages by armed attacks and IED blasts in Delaram’s Dahmazang, Sherkot, Durahi and all the other areas. A few days earlier, Mujahideen ambushed an enemy patrol in Dahmazang area in which 7 enemy tanks and vehicles were destroyed. Mujahideen also carried out deadly assaults on the check post scattered on the main road lying between Nimroz provincial capital and Khashrod district. We have also been successful in closing logistical routs of the enemy and in some areas have become an obstacle for them. The main road between Delaram and Khashrod has been closed for a very long time and Mujahideen also control many of the other roads. The Americans only dare to pass in huge convoys and only when accompanied by airpower.
Q: What type of operation can the Mujahideen generally carry out in the province?
A: Our Mujahideen have reached a level where they carry out offensive attacks on the enemy in big groups and are also able to put up resistance against very large enemy force. In some areas they carry out guerilla attacks in small groups in accordance with the situation there. Except a limited number of areas, we have forced the enemy on the defensive because of our sheer strength.
Q: How is the governance handled in the areas controlled by Islamic Emirate? Do you have civilian organizations active there?
A: Yes! We have been successful in handling the governance in accordance with the rules laid out by Islamic Emirate in Delaram and Khashrod district and its surrounding areas. We have a civilian Governor, district Deputy, Judge, Commission as well as heads for Education and Guidance.
Q: Are the people of Nimroz cooperating with the stooge regime or are they supporting the Mujahideen?
A: The Muslim and Mujahid people of Nimroz, as previously, are fully supporting the Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate. The people of Nimroz have embraced Mujahideen in recent years even more than before due to understanding the nature and false propaganda of democracy which the enemy spreads. The enemy is often trapped in their headquarters and when they do come out for an operation, they bomb the area and create an atmosphere of fear in hopes of achieving some progress. These types of enemy operations have caused immense damage to the lives and property of civilians in Nimroz, especially to the people of Khashrod district. So how can the people of Nimroz open up or have any faith in them? The day to day achievements of Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate is related directly to the full support we garner from the people.
Q: Dear Maulavi Sahib, to end, do you have a message to your people, Mujahideen or Muslims in general, in which we can help deliver?
A: Thank you brother. I would like to tell ordinary people that the situation in our country has reached a very sensitive point and all signs are indicating that the invaders have failed and are going to flee with the help of Allah Almighty. We are going to be facing another hurdle just like how we have been in bringing a pure Islamic government. So we must unify ourselves and be very vigilant to not get deceived by the cunning plans of the enemy by which, may Allah forbid, our sacrifices become fruitless like those of the previous Jihad. I have the same request and hope from our Mujahideen to deliver on the promise to our nation of a free, independent and an Islamic State and not let the dreams and aspirations of our Martyrs, Orphans and Widows go to waste. They should do their utmost not to harm our people who are true Mumineen (Believers) and have sacrificed a lot in the way of Allah for an Islamic State. No effort should be spared in keeping them happy.

New statement from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan: "Peace Council’s Efforts, Symbolic and Dictated"

The commission constituted under the name of peace high council has a specific duty in the light of the American military strategy and  is toeing the line in tandem. In the current week, a high level delegation of the council made a symbolic trip to neighboring Pakistan where they claimed to have had fruitful and meaningful talks with officials of the country.
The  very structure and endeavors of the peace high council is cosmetic, being part and parcel of the American war strategy  in view of the fact that   they do not consider the withdrawal of  foreign forces from Afghanistan as their main objective  nor they recognize it as an important and vital item of the agenda.  However, it is the essential demand of the majority people  of  Afghanistan  and of the region. Still more, they do not follow a roadmap that would lead to a decisive stage where peace and reconciliation will become a must and indispensable.  Contrarily, they continue their ineffective and fruitless efforts aimed at paving the way for the American and other foreign forces to stay in Afghanistan; to prolong the occupation and keep the war unabated. If the council wants, in earnest, to usher in peace in Afghanistan and put an end to the fighting, they should,  first and foremost, reach a conclusion with the Americans who have taken the “peace” as hostage that whether they are ready to respect and accept a solution based on pull-out of their forces from Afghanistan?

Currently, not only the Afghans but the people of the region, America and the West want this war to be stopped immediately and Afghanistan must be delivered from the claws of the invading foreign forces.  But the Americans are not ready to come down from the saddle of their stubbornness and brutality. Sometimes, they unveil their ambition of continuing the occupation for another four years; sometimes, they speak of sending new cache of weapons, surveillance aircrafts and re-enforcement. Even some American senators unfurl their pipedream of maintaining permanent bases in Afghanistan and put up notions in this regard.

We ask the steering high-up and members of the peace council, could you produce your  single tangible proposal that has ever extracted a positive response from the Americans? Was there any point in the review of the Obama’s war strategy for the years 2010-2011 to show their intention of conceding any importance to peace? If so, the peace council would have had the space to perform their task in its true sense and context and the Americans would have supported  them.  But, it seems,  the establishment of the peace council is part of the war strategy of Obama. The American troops and the Kabul hireling army and security apparatus are engaged in killing and torturing the Afghan Mojahid people. They want to uproot the Jihad and  the peace council, with a palatable diplomacy and stratagems, simultaneously want to weaken it. Allah, forbid, they want the Mujahideen to crumble. But we ask the Almighty Allah (SwT) to foil this conspiracy like your other conspiracies and face it with  shame and humiliation. Thus the fact may come to open that you are not supporters and seekers  of peace but lining your pockets with dollars and grabbing lucrative slots.
You are those well-known faces who have trampled down on their history, identity and honor to achieve these targets.  You sold the country to the Americans; you called the Western democracy of nakedness as being in agreement with Islam. You are trying  to beef up its continuation and,  last, you  serve  as  spice and pepper to season the present dispensation.
–Forward to Establishment of Islamic Sovereignty in the Country!

New Statement from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan: "Mujāhidīn Control Seven Districts in Balkh Province and the Main Road to Shubarghān"

Balkh is amongst one of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces and is considered as one of the most important provinces in the North of the country. Its capital is Mazar Sharif which is one of the country’s major cities. It is approximately 12,593 square kilometers and has a population of about 650000 or more according to a recent survey. Balkh province has been divided into 15 districts as shown below:
1.       Mazar Sharif                                       2.Dahdady
3.       Nahr-e-Shahi                                     4. Marmal
5.       Khlam (tashqalghan)                      6. Keldar
7.       Shor Tipa                                             8. Dawlatbad
9.       Balkh                                                     10. Charbolak
11.   Chamtal                                               12. Sholgira
13.   Charkant                                              14. Kashinda
15.   Zari
Balkh is regarded as one of Afghanistan’s most historical and cultural cities and moreover it was one of the strongholds of Mujahideen is the last Jihad and is also a trench of Mujahideen in the current jihad.
A brief biography of Balkh provinces Jihadi leader
Mullah Abdul Karim (Nafiz) is the son of Abdul Jabbar and was born into a religiously devout family 26 years ago today in Sholgari district of Balkh province. He conducted his elementary studies in his home town and then furthered his religious studies in the different provinces of Afghanistan. He was also a friend of the Martyred Mullah Raz Muhammad Haidari the previous leader of this province and along with him has carried out Jihadic services in Balkh, Kandahar, Helmand and Zabul provinces and is presently the head Jihadi leader of Balkh province.
Alemrah Studio: Dear Nafiz Sahib, before everything else, can you shed some light on the current year Jihadic situation of Balkh province?
Mullah Abdul Karim: All praises are due to Allah and may his peace and blessings be on Muhammad (SAW) and his rightly guided companions.
To answer your question, I must firstly say that Alhamdulillah, this year was the year of honor, victory and help from Allah in accordance with the name of this year’s operation ‘Al-Fath’ as declared by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. We witnessed the evident manifestation of Mujahideen victories in Balkh and the rest of the Northern provinces. I would like to mention that even though we had Mujahideen groups operating in all the district’s but our sphere of influence and controlled was restricted to 4 district’s which were Balkh, Chabolak, Chamtal and Sholgira. During this year we extended our reach and took control of other districts like Kashinda, Nahr-e-Shahi and also Keldar and other surrounding areas. We have also had great achievements in the other districts as well. The main highway between Balkh-Shubarghan which passes through Charbolak is always bearing witness to the constant ambushes of our Mujahideen which has become a major obstacle for the enemy logistical supply rout. We were able to neutralize the enemy conspiracies by completely shutting down all the polling stations in 6 districts on Election Day. We also took out more than 15 enemy centers in which the enemy took on heavy losses from the resulting clashes. So overall the situation of Balkh province is very promising, all thanks are due to Allah. Groups of Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate have also been sent to all the district’s where the enemy forces are facing a lot of difficulties.
Alemrah Studio: Is the presence of foreign troops in Balkh still limited to the center or have they spread out to the districts?
Mullah Abdul Karim: Like other northern provinces, the occupying forces based in Balkh are German, Norway, Bulgaria and other countries and are based in the provincial center, Mazar Sharif. The invading forces do go out to the surrounding districts for operations but have not built any outposts there.
Alemrah Studio: Kabul regimes Ministry of Defense as well as the governor of Balkh province in the press recently claimed that their operations in Mujahideen dominated areas have yielded great results and achievements; can you provide some information regarding this issue?
Mullah Abdul Karim: It is true that the domestic and foreign troops were recently gathered from surrounding provinces to carry out operations against Mujahideen in Balkh province because the Kabul regime’s Ministry of Defense announced its intentions to carryout operation in the Northern provinces such as those being carried out in Kandahar and Helmand. Almost 5000 international and domestic troops supported by airpower entered Chamtal and Charbolak districts but faced stiff Mujahideen resistance from the very first day. Their tanks were blown apart in bombings and their foot patrols were also relentlessly ambushed. The enemy only had presence in Charbolak’s Darzankar, Timorak and Khanabad areas and in Chamtal’s Tarako and Hotako villages before fleeing from all the areas due to the deadly casualties and damages caused by the ferocity of Mujahideen attacks. All praises are due to Allah, Mujahideen did not have any significant losses but the enemy took on heavy losses compared to any other time and fled, disgraced and humiliated.
Alemrah Studio: How much of the region do the Mujahideen control in Balkh?
Mullah Abdul Karim: As I pointed out earlier, Mujahideen have complete control of 7 districts but not the district centers and the enemy only controls those areas which are in close proximity to Mazar Sharif however Mujahideen are active in those areas too. The enemy forces are facing a tough time as Balkh-Shubarghan main highway, the main supply rout of the enemy runs through Mujahideen controlled regions where they constantly ambush the enemy logistical convoys.
Alemrah Studio: One of the new programs of the enemy is that of creating Arbaki (militia) forces in the Northern provinces. Has this development taken place in Balkh and what has been its result?
Mullah Abdul Karim: The only district in Balkh province where an effort was made by the enemy to create militia force was Charbolak, were its Muslim population vehemently rejected this proposal with a united voice and said that they had experienced these militias before and are not ready to repeat the same mistake. With this disappointment, the enemy armed 2 previous gunmen commanders (one from Masood’s and another from Dustam’s party) along with some former thieves and robbers in Charbolak district where they have set up a few check posts but have so far not been able to harm any Mujahideen. This failed program has only been tried in Charbolak district which has resulted in hatred for the government by local population because of the re-armament of previous criminals who recently, as per their previous behavior stole the valuables from homes which were located near their check posts during searches.
Alemrah Studio: How much support and cooperation do the Mujahideen have from the people of Balkh province?
Mullah Abdul Karim: The Mujahid people of Balkh, just as they had previously, are standing shoulder to shoulder and are fully cooperating with the Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate. Despite the repeated efforts by the enemy to sow seeds of division and create local militias to strain the relationship between Mujahideen and local populace but due to the nation’s understanding the nature and plans of the enemy through the years seem to have foiled these plans. The reason that Mujahideen are mobile and carry operations through the different districts of Balkh province is directly the result of the support of the people and we thank Allah Almighty for this situation.
Alemrah Studio: How would you describe your relationship with the other Jihad areas in the Northern provinces?
Mullah Abdul Karim: We are always in contact with our neighboring Juzjan province. Faizabad district is one of the districts in Juzjan which has a border with Balkh province and is in complete control of Mujahideen and so we lend each other a helping hand during rough times. All praises are due to Allah, Mujahideen in the Northern provinces are also in direct contact with each other like the rest of the country. Balkh, Juzjan, Faryab and Sar-e-Pul have regions which are in full Mujahideen control and they regularly carry out joint operations. There are vast regions under Mujahideen control from Balkh’s Sholgari and Charbolk to Juzjan’s Faizabad, Shortipa, Darzab and Faryab’s Dawlatabad and Sar-e-Puls Sayad districts are linked to each other. So due to this blessing, Mujahideen are able to coordinate and plan their operations with assurance and take advice from experiences of each other.
Alemrah Studio: The enemy is constantly making efforts and is spreading rumors that it will oust Mujahideen from Northern districts. What do you believe regarding this?
Mullah Abdul Karim: We have believed in Allah Almighty and started the Jihad here only by trusting in his power. In the beginning there were only a handful of Mujahideen carrying out guerilla style attacks in Balkh but never did we lose faith in Allah’s support and we have witnessed his help arrive in the past couple of years and are
