New statement from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan's Zabīhullah Mujāhid: "Remarks Regarding the Ongoing Situation in Mali"

As the struggle between the Mujahideen and the government of Mali has intensified more than ever and a foreign military intervention has also taken place therefore the Islamic Emirate, which has seen the results of foreign interventions and has a lot
of experience in this regard, calls on the Malian people and all related and involved sides to utilize such a mechanism and process which restores peace and calm in the country on the basis of Islamic principles and solves the quandary without any foreign intervention.
When France began its withdrawal process from Afghanistan in recent times it seemed as the French government would likely expand its anti-war stance to other regions of the world however it broke off its commitment to peace by transgressing militarily on the soil of northern African nation of Mali. France has launched war against the Muslim nation of Mali without having any legal jurisdiction.
The Islamic Emirate strongly condemns this French attack on a Muslim nation and calls on all the nations of the world, governments and organizations to fulfill their due roles in stopping such transgressions so that the Muslims of Mali can solve their own problems by themselves. Such interventions and attacks are not only disastrous for Mali but also for France.
All the powerful countries of the world should take lessons from the failed American policy of military interventions in Afghanistan and Iraq from which it cannot wrangle free or regain its lost status.

Zabihullah Mujahid

New statement from Ḥarakat al-Shabāb al-Mujāhidīn: "French Operation Commander Killed"

Bulo-Marer (14/01/2013) – The French rescue operation in Bulo-Marer, Lower Shabelle region, not only failed to secure the release of Dennis Alex but also resulted in the death of several of the French forces and injured many more.
Among those severely injured during the botched operation was the French commander leading the operation.
The commander was deserted by his comrades after a fierce firefight and subsequently captured by the Mujahideen. HSM paramedic teams arrived at the scene shortly after the firefight had ended and transferred him to a hospital at the base, but he succumbed to his injuries hours later.
The Mujahideen recovered several weapons and the soldier’s gear from the scene of battle and later also managed to retrieve valuable information from the soldier before his death. The body of the soldier is still within the custody of the Mujahideen.
Harakat Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen has also today reached a unanimous verdict on the fate of Dennis Alex after three and a half years in captivity. The details of that verdict and some background information of the events leading up to the failed rescue operation will be published in the coming hours Insha’allah.

New statement from the Muslim Youth Center: "MYC On Abū Manṣūr al-Amrīkī"

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful the Most Beneficent
Tanga (12/01/2013) – Over the past weeks MYC in Kenya and Tanzania have received numerous queries on the status of Abu Mansur Al-Amriki, and asked to confirm whether he has been “detained”, “executed” or “expelled” by our beloved Sheikh Abu Zubeyr (May Allah preserve him for the cause) and Al-Shabaab in Somalia.
While we are aware of these reports, we remind our Mujahideen brothers in Kenya and rest of East Africa that the only legitimate authority on the current status of Abu Mansur Al-Amriki in Al-Shabaab and Somalia is Amir Sheikh Abu Zubeyr and his chosen spokespersons on the matter.
We encourage our inquisitive Mujahideen brothers to revisit and re-read the press release (“Abu Mansur Al-Amriki”) by our beloved brothers Al-Shabaab on 17 December 2012, regarding Abu Mansur Al-Amriki. The press release was a self-explanatory clarification by Al-Shabaab on the matter. In this regard, it is important that the Mujahideen in East Africa refrain from encouraging disunity among the Ummah over the issue of Abu Mansur Al-Amriki but focus on recommitting themselves to Jihad in East Africa under the umbrella of AQEA.
For those Mujahideen that seek to emulate the likes of Abu Mansur Amriki, we ask them to look at the tireless dedication shown by Amir Sheikh Abu Zubeyr and our Amir Sheikh Ahmad Iman Ali (May Allah continue to grant him wisdom), before making their choice of enhancing their image within the discourse of Jihad in East Africa. Jihad will never be about the image of one individual but the collective image of the Mujahideen.
We ask Allah to guide us all on the right path.

New statement from Ḥarakat al-Shabāb al-Mujāhidīn: "Another Botched French Rescue Operation"

Bula-Marer (12/01/2013) – At around 0200 hours Saturday morning five French helicopters attacked a location in the town of Bula-Marer, around 30 km South of Marka in the Islamic Administration of Lower Shabeelle, in a botched rescue attempt aimed at releasing the French hostage Dennis Allex.
In a battle that lasted for about 45 minutes, the Mujahideen have, with the blessing of Allah alone, successfully foiled the attack and, after a fierce firefight, managed to repel the French forces that took part in the operation that was inevitably doomed to fail.
The helicopters attacked a house in Bula-Marer upon the assumption that Dennis Allex was being held at that location, but owing to a fatal intelligence blunder, the rescue mission turned disastrously wrong. Several French soldiers were killed in the battle and many more were injured before they fled from the scene of battle, leaving behind some military paraphernalia and even one of their comrades on the ground. The injured French soldier is now in the custody of the Mujahideen and Allex still remains safe and far from the location of the battle.
Despite the numerous warnings by the Mujahideen leaders, most recently Sheikh Mus’ab Abdul Wadud, that any attempt to forcibly rescue French hostages would result in disaster, yet Francois Hollande’s government heedlessly continues to plough on with the reckless policies of its predecessor.
The series of failed rescue attempts carried out by the French forces not only epitomise the French government’s distinct imprudence when it comes to dealing with hostages, but also clearly highlights its recurrent policy of continued disregard for the lives of its citizens. And instead of rescuing them, such ill-advised operations only further imperil the lives of the hostages. And in the end, it will be the French citizens who will inevitably taste the bitter consequences of their government’s devil-may-care attitude towards hostages.
As a response to this botched rescue operation by the French forces, Harakat Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen assures the French people that it will give its final verdict regarding the fate of Dennis Allex within two days.
