يَـأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ادْخُلُواْ فِي السِّلْمِ كَآفَّةً

وَلاَ تَتَّبِعُواْ خُطُوَتِ الشَّيْطَـنِ

إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ

O you who have faith!
Enter into submission, all together, and do not follow in Satan’s steps;
he is indeed your manifest enemy.

Here is the asbāb al-nuzūl (occasions of revelation) for this verse:

(O ye who believe! Come, all of you, into submission (unto Him)…) [2:208]. Abu Nu’aym al-Asfahani informed me, in one of the narration that he authorized me to narrate from him> Sulayman ibn Ahmad> Bakr ibn Sahl> ‘Abd al-Ghaniyy ibn Sa’id> Musa ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-San’ani> Ibn Jurayj> ‘Ata’> ibn ‘Abbas that he said: “This verse was revealed about ‘Abd Allah ibn Salam and his followers. This is because when they believed in the Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, they observed the laws that he brought forth while still observing the laws of Moses. They observed the Sabbath and shunned the meat and milk of camels after they embraced Islam. Some Muslims reproached them for this but they defended themselves by saying that they could observe both. They said to the Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace: ‘The Torah is the Book of Allah, so let us observe its teachings’. Allah, exalted is He, then revealed this verse”.

And here are some tafāsīr (Qur’ānic exegesis) from some leading Muslim mufassirūn (those who conduct Qur’ānic exegesis) in Islamic history with regard to the above:
Jalālayn:

The following verse was revealed regarding ‘Abd Allāh b. Salām and his companions, who after converting to Islam still observed the Sabbath with reverence and were averse to [the consumption of] camels: O you who believe, come, all of you, into submission (read al-salm or al-silm), that is, Islam; kāffatan is a circumstantial qualifier referring to al-silm, meaning, into all of its precepts; and follow not the steps, the ways, of Satan, that is, his temptations to you by way of creating divisions; he is a manifest foe to you, one whose enmity is obvious.

Ibn ‘Abbās:

(O ye who believe! Come, all of you, into submission) come all of you to the prescriptions of the Religion of Muhammad (pbuh); (and follow not the footsteps of the devil) follow not the embellishments of the devil regarding the unlawfulness of the Sabbath, the meat of camels and other things. (Lo! He is an open enemy for you) whose enmity is quite manifest.

Ibn Kathīr:

Allah commands His servants who believe in Him and have faith in His Messenger to implement all of Islam’s legislation and law, to adhere to all of its commandments, as much as they can, and to refrain from all of its prohibitions. `Al-`Awfi said that Ibn `Abbas said, and also Mujahid, Tawus, Ad-Dahhak, `Ikrimah, Qatadah, As-Suddi and Ibn Zayd said that Allah’s statement:

[ادْخُلُواْ فِي السِّلْمِ]

(Enter Silm) means Islam. Allah’s statement:

[كَآفَّةً]

(…perfectly) means, in its entirety. This is the Tafsir of Ibn `Abbas, Mujahid, Abu Al-`Aliyah, `Ikrimah, Ar-Rabi` bin Anas, As-Suddi, Muqatil bin Hayyan, Qatadah and Ad-Dahhak. Mujahid said that the Ayah means, `Perform all the good works and the various pious deeds, this is especially addressed to those from among the People of the Scripture who embraced the faith.’ Ibn Abu Hatim reported that Ibn `Abbas said that:

[يَـأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ادْخُلُواْ فِي السِّلْمِ كَآفَّةً]

(O you who believe! Enter Silm perfectly) refers to the believers among the People of the Scripture. This is because they believed in Allah, some of them still followed some parts of the Tawrah and the previous revelations. So Allah said:

[ادْخُلُواْ فِي السِّلْمِ كَآفَّةً]

(Enter Islam perfectly.) Allah thus commanded them to embrace the legislation of the religion of Muhammad in its entirety and to avoid abandoning any part of it. They should no longer adhere to the Tawrah.
Allah then said:

[وَلاَ تَتَّبِعُواْ خُطُوَتِ الشَّيْطَـنِ]

(…and follow not the footsteps of Shaytan) meaning, perform the acts of worship and avoid what Satan commands you to do. This is because:

[إِنَّمَا يَأْمُرُكُم بِالسُّوءِ وَالْفَحْشَآءِ وَأَن تَقُولُواْ عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ ]

(He (Shaytan) commands you only what is evil and Fahsha’ (sinful), and that you should say about Allah what you know not.) (2:169) and:

[إِنَّمَا يَدْعُو حِزْبَهُ لِيَكُونُواْ مِنْ أَصْحَـبِ السَّعِيرِ]

(He only invites his Hizb (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire.) (35:6) Hence, Allah said:

[إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ]

(Verily, he is to you an open enemy.)
Allah said:

[فَإِن زَلَلْتُمْ مِّن بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْكُمُ الْبَيِّنَـتُ]

(Then if you slide back after the clear signs have come to you) meaning, if you deviate from the Truth after clear proofs have been established against you,

[فَاعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ]

(…then know that Allah is All-Mighty) in His punishment, and no one can escape His vengeance or defeat Him.

[حَكِيمٌ]

(All-Wise) in His decisions, actions and rulings. Hence Abu Al-`Aliyah, Qatadah and Ar-Rabi` bin Anas said, “He is Mighty in His vengeance, Wise in His decision.”

[هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلاَّ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي ظُلَلٍ مِّنَ الْغَمَامِ وَالْمَلَـئِكَةُ وَقُضِىَ الأَمْرُ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الأُمُورُ ]

(210. Do they then wait for anything other than that Allah should come to them over the shadows of the clouds and the angels (Then) the case would be already judged. And to Allah return all matters (for decision).)

New statement from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan: "Unquestionably, Hands of American Rulers Behind the Crime of the Holy Qur'ān Burning"

Some international media outlets reported on the evening of Friday last that Terry Jones, pastor at a church in Gaineville, Florida set fire to a copy of the Holy Quran on Tuesday after a fake trial. According to this Satan, the Holy Quran teaches murder and terrorism in
the world. This devilish American pastor had been threatening for the last six months persistently that he would burn hundreds of copies of the Holy Quran on September 11.
The American media outlets like their rulers stayed completely silent as regards this inhumane and wicked action. They neither published commentaries about this evil act nor showed any reaction thereabout. Only a limited number of Muslims in New York condemned the crime of the pastor during a demonstration. They said,  the event of burning a copy of the Holy Quran indicates that the Obama Administration is indifferent to the cause of protection of the religious beliefs and values of the Muslims. Contrarily, the Administration  acquiesces in allowing him to desecrate Islamic rituals and  the sacrosanct.
Though the American rulers say,  the burning of the Holy Quran falls under the category of freedom of speech but the question arises if a Muslim reacts to the bestial step of Terry Jones in a self-same manner, then would the American rulers and media tolerate it under the rules of the freedom of speech and would they  remain silent? Or  rather that the Americans including the rulers, politicians, religious followers and media of the West  will simultaneously, run a mock and refer the case to the Security Council and the United Nations?
Terry Jones, pastor of Gaineville church in Florida, USA, has  burnt a  copy of the Holy Quran in a time that the Americans ironically  consider it as a cause of 9/11 and have already invaded Afghanistan and Iraq under the  said pretext. They shed blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent Muslims and even have recently turned to killing and oppressing the Libyans Muslims. So we can say, the hostility of the pastor and his anti-Islamic crime is not limited to his person but is a comprehensive anti-Islamic plan being implemented with the volition and consent of  the White House. Hundreds of times, we have seen abhorrent instances of blasphemy at the hands of  the Americans soldiers in Guantanamo, Abu Gharib and Bagram prisons, desecrating the Holy Quran and other Islamic tenets.
While we strongly condemn the crime of the  burning  of the Holy Quran by the American pastor Terry Jones, meanwhile,  we say there are hands and help of the American rulers behind this evil and despicable deed of the pastor. He had been threatening for months to carry out this sinful action and  the American rulers were fully aware of his intention.
To end, we call on the Islamic Ummah, not to remain indifferent in face of this contemptible action of the enemies of Islam. Shake up and put pressure on rulers of your countries to come out of the cocoon of hesitation and vacillation and raise the issue of the Holy Quran burning at world level.

{إِنَّ اللَّهَ اشْتَرَى مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَيُقْتَلُونَ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ وَالْقُرْآنِ
وَمَنْ أَوْفَى بِعَهْدِهِ مِنَ اللَّهِ فَاسْتَبْشِرُوا بِبَيْعِكُمُ الَّذِي بَايَعْتُمْ بِهِ وَذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ}

جاء في المسند أن النَّبِي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ((أَفْضلُ الشُّهَدَاء الَّذِينَ إِنْ يَلْقَوْا في الصَّفِ لا يَلْفِتُونَ وجوهَهُمْ حَتَّى يُقْتَلُوا، أُولَئِكَ يَتَلَبَّطُونَ في الْغُرَفِ العُلَى مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ، وَيَضْحَكُ إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ، وَإِذَا ضَحِكَ رَبُّكَ إِلَى عَبْدٍ فى الدُّنْيَا، فَلا حِسَابَ عَلَيْه)). بكل رضًا بقضاء الله وقدره، وبثقة لا تحدها حدود في نصر الله ومعيته, تحتسب جماعة التوحيد والجهاد في بيت المقدس عند الله تعالى أحد أبطال التوحيد وفرسان الجهاد في أرض الرباط؛ الأخ المجاهد: محمَّـد خَـالد معمَّـر -تقبله الله في الشهداء- 25 عامًا- من جنوب قطاع غزة. والذي أسلم الروح لباريها خلال قيامه مع إخوانه في جماعة التوحيد والجهاد بإطلاق الصواريخ تجاه مغتصبات العدو اليهودي الجاثمة على أرضنا المحتلة، وذلك صبيحة يوم الأربعاء 25 ربيع ثاني 1432، الموافق 30-3- 2011، حين استهدفته طائرة يهودية حاقدة بصاروخ أدى لارتقائه إلى ربه؛ ليعلِن أن الجهاد ماضٍ وأن لا مكان في هذه الأرض المباركة لهدنة مُذِلة هنا أو تهدئة مُخزية هناك. ارتقى محمد -تقبَّله الله- بعد أن كان قد تبرَّأ إلى الله تعالى من كل الرايات البِدعية والأحزاب الوطنيَّة التي تدَّعي الجهاد وتنتسب للإسلام، فسَلك درب التوحيد والجهاد وخاض غماره، بل وأثبت صدق أقواله بالأفعال، فلقد فقدَ كفَّ يده اليسرى قبل أشهر خلال إعداد العدة لجهاد اليهود، -فنسأل الله أن تكون قد سبقته للجنة- ولم يُثنِه ذلك عن مواصلة دربه، فواصل الإعداد والجهاد، وشهدت بذلك الحدود الشرقية لقطاع غزة، إلى أن ختم الله تعالى له بخاتم الشهادة، والتحق بقافلة الأبرار الذين سبقوه على طريق ذات الشوكة، نحسبه كذلك والله حسيبُه. وبذلك تودع اليوم جماعة التوحيد والجهاد أحد فرسانها الميامين؛ فيما يقبع أميرها الشيخ المفضال أبو الوليد المقدسي – فك الله أسره- في زنازين حكومة غزة، لتتواتر سِيَر أبناء هذا المنهج المبارك على ما كان عليه سلفهم الصالح ممن عبَّدوا تلك الطريق بدمائهم وآلامهم وتضحياتهم وجراحهم، قال تعالى: {وَلَا تَقُولُوا لِمَنْ يُقْتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتٌ بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ وَلَكِنْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ * وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَنْفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ *
الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ}

نسأل الله أن يتقبل أخانا ويشفي جرحانا وجرحى المسلمين ويُعافيَهم.
وجهادنا ماضٍ، وغاراتنا متواصلة، وصولاتنا لن تتوقف بإذن الله.
والله غالب على أمره، ولكن أكثر الناس لا يعملون.
اللهم مُنزل الكتاب مُجري السحاب هَازم الأحزاب، اهزم اليهود والصليبيين ومن حَالفهم من المرتدين.
اللهم اجعلهم وعتادهم غنيمة للمسلمين.
اللهم دمّرهم و زلزلهم.
اللهم أنت عَضدنا وأنت نصيرنا، اللهم بك نصُول وبك نجُول وبك نُقاتل.
والله أكبر
